Scouting For Food

Scouting for Food (November 7 & 14) is our troop's major service project of the year. Service is one of the core pillars of Scouting, and we encourage every Scout and family to participate. This is a great opportunity to help provide food for local families in need during the holiday season. 

First Saturday - Bag Distribution

Saturday, November 7 | 9:00–11:00 a.m.

Volunteers will be in the Monteith parking lot to hand out collection bags and assign routes.

While you do not have to distribute your bags on Saturday, most families choose to do so. Please make sure all bags are delivered by Thursday.

If you are unable to come to Monteith on Saturday, let us know and we will arrange another way for you to pick up your bags and route.

Second Saturday - Food Collection

Saturday, November 14 | Morning

Return to the homes where you distributed bags and collect any food donations left on the porches. After completing your route, bring the donated food back to Monteith.

If you can distribute bags but are unavailable for food collection on the second Saturday, please let us know in advance so we can arrange for a nearby Scout to collect the donations from your route.

BBQ

Saturday, November 14 | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

After food collection, join us for a BBQ featuring hot dogs, chips, and more! We'll also recognize our top popcorn sellers.
